Exciting news....

I applied for a DT position for Out of the Hat and found out last week I got in!!  I am so pleased, the challenges takes me out of my comfort zone and makes me think (which is hard for me to do! LOL) and try something new!  I am so used to doing sketches, which I love doing but these are different!  The criteria's for March were:-
1. Use twine
2. Use a number in your title
3. Make your own Journaling Spot (use stamps etc).  This is the LO I did.

For the Journaling Spot I stamped on the background paper then glued twine where the stamped lines where and then stuck my journalling inbetween the lines. Why don't you head on over to Out of the Hat and try out their challenge for March, there are some great prizes to be won!!

My 3 cheeky grandchildren!!  Aren't they the cutest!!

Have a great day.

Cheers

Another term....

at Nuts about Sketches!!  Yay, I am really pleased I got accepted by Shawn to do another 6 months doing her sketches!  I love doing them, they are always a bit different and have lots of photos!!  Last weeks sketch was a beauty.....
This is my Layout I did......I printed out a large photo of the sunset and used that as the backgound paper.  We were down at Black Rock and the sun was setting and it turned the water the most amazing colours!!  It was just beautiful!  The kids had so much fun.
Next weeks sketch is awesome, why don't you have a go, I would love to see your work!

Cheers

Another Layout and some cards...

Just thought I would show the cards I made for my classes last week, I haven't been showing my cards on here but I will from now on.  I am an independent Stampin Up demonstrator and I hold 2 classes a week here at home.

This first one was done using a serviette!  It is gorgeous IRL.... so easy to do.

Just noticed the bow on the right one has fallen off!  These little flowers are so easy to make and look gorgeous, you will be seeing some of these on my scrapbooking pages!!  I love them.

I did this LO for my scrapbooking class last week using Kaisercraft papers.
Me with my dear friend Janet down at Mount Gambier. I wish we lived closer so we could scrap together, I will just have to visit her more often!!

The next layout I did for Out of the Hat, they have great challenges each month, it takes me out of my comfort zone...I have been doing sketches for so long and I thought it was time I did something different.  The 3 challenges for February were to 1.  Misting and Masking  2. use clouds  3. use Tree/s
I"m not real happy with this one, I feel like pulling it apart and doing it again but it's done now and I'm happy I have scrapped another lot of photos.
Cooper sitting on a deck chair at our Xmas get together at Black Point with two hats on and when I went to take his photo he said "HoHoHo Merry Christmas"!  So Cute!

That's all for today....hope you all have a fabulous day!

This weeks sketch..

at Nuts About Sketches is a double and I really enjoyed doing this sketch.  I scrapped the photos of New Year's Eve fireworks that was held at Wallaroo.  I take lots of photos and the grandchildren like to check them out on the computer to see what shapes they can see, the layout is all the things they saw in the photos.

I have used some really old fireworks paper and put kindy glitz all over the fireworks, it looks really good.  I sprayed and splashed glimmer mist all over the cardstock for the background.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great day.

This weeks sketch....

...at Nuts about Sketches is a beauty.  These photos are of Emily getting her 13th birthday present from Mum & Dad.  She had a BIG weekend with about 12 or13 girls for a sleep over but Mum & Dad thought they would surprise her with a special gift...a gorgeous silver bracelet.

Thought I had better....

catch up with my postings!!!!  That was my  new years resolution to keep up with my blog, not doing too good am I?!  Been busy busy looking after my beautiful grandchildren during the school holidays and now school has gone back I'm looking after my adorable, lovable, soooo cute Montana, she is just sooo beautiful!!!!
Here are some more layouts I have been doing for Nuts about Sketches, I love Shawn's sketches!!!
First one is based on this sketch
My crazy 6 Grand-children.....they had all been swimming (the water was freezing) and they were all tired and cold....they were sitting on the edge of the decking getting warm so I went down onto the beach and told them to all smile....well all I got was grumpy faces, no one wanted to smile, so I told them to all make a stupid face, I thought that would make them smile but I get these photos instead!!  They are gorgeous!
The next one was based on this sketch....
Darling Cooper on his 3rd birthday.....the saying was so true on this day, Cooper did spit and dribble on the cake as he was blowing out the candles, so we just removed the decorations with Bart on it and all was OK!  The kids enjoyed it anyway!

This is sketch 146....
Renae & Jason's 3 children enjoying the beach at Black Point.  These photos have been sitting in an album for a few years so I'm glad I've got around to scrapping them.
Sketch 147....
I love how this layout turned out!  Montana having her first lollipop and boy did she enjoy it!

Have a look at Nuts about Sketches  and try out one of Shawn's sketches, if you do I would love to see it!
If you have got this far, thanks for looking and I'll be back soon.

Hope you have a great day!

Two posts in one day!

Lets Scrap is another sketch site I love, they have multiple photo layouts as well as double pagers.   I entered one of my pages in their sketch comp and came second, this is the layout I entered, it was a page I did for Nuts about Sketches from one of Shawn's sketches.  We had to enter a layout for them to copy and make a sketch from.....

and this is the sketch that Cheri did with my layout.
Head on over to Lets Scrap and see what the DT did with the sketch and there is a great prize for the winner if you enter a layout based on this sketch.

Another Layout for....

.......Nuts About Sketches, love this sketch...again!  Getting so many photos scrapped, yah!  Cooper again, collection rock crabs down at Black Rock, he is so fascinated with them.

Check out what the other DT girls have done with this sketch, they are gorgeous!

Another layout...

....for Nuts about Sketches.  Loved this sketch, I'm using up so many photos.  Here's the sketch and my interpretation of it.  This is Montana trying watermelon for the first time and she LOVED it!!!  but unfortunately because of her allergies and her eczema we found out she is unable to eat it.  Poor love.

Why don't you head over to Nuts about Sketches and check out Shawn's sketches, they are fantastic!!!

Hope you are all having a great day.

I think it's about time.......

...to update this blog, don't you think!!?!  Been very slack in this department...but my New Year's resolution is  TRY  no... will continue to update at least once a week!  Been very busy teaching scrapbooking and card classes, baby sitting my darling grandchildren and generally just trying to keep up with this busy life.

I had a great Christmas with my family, unfortunately Russ & Susie were in America but hope to catch up with them in the New Year.  Made my New Years resolutions and I AM going to keep them up, I am very determined to do it this year!!

Well, not much on the scrapping side of things...the only pages I have done are my DT layouts for Nuts about Sketches.  Been busy making cards for my classes, glad Christmas is over, a little sick of christmas cards!

Here are my pages for  Nuts about Sketches:- Starting with this weeks sketch 141....
Tom playing in his Basketball Grandfinal, unfortunately they lost but he won Runner up Best & Fairest for the Association and won Best & Fairest for his home team Owen.  Well done Tom, congratulations.

Week 140....this is my darling youngest grand-daughter Montana, she is the cutest little girl, just love her to bits!!!

Next is week 139....photos of Emily & Abby enjoying the waves at Wallaroo, the sun was setting and it looked beautiful with the girls running through the waves and splashing, it looked like they were running in fire!

Week 138.... Cooper trying to get me on the swing.  The swing he is on belonged to his great grand father and when Travis was born he sanded and painted it and gave it to him and here is Cooper many years later swinging on the same swing,  Hopefully he can hand it down to his own children.

Week 137....Cooper again having so much fun in a few little puddles of water in the back yard of the Dublin Hotel where we lived. Isn't he a cutie!!

Week 136...Cooper again, I'm going through my multiple albums of printed photos that I had printed years ago trying to get them scrapped.  That's what I love about Shawn's sketches, I can get so many photos on my layouts.  Here he is trying to get Tom's Ninja Turtle costume on, he was unaware of me taking the photos, he was in his own world, it looked so funny.

Week 135...Abby celebrating Great Granny Peter's 79th birthday.  We all went to the Kadina Hotel for dinner where Granny & myself celebrated our birthdays, she turned 79 on the 25.1.2010 and I turned 56 on the 19.1.2010.

Gee are you still with me!!  I didn't realise I was soooo far behind.
Well here is Week 134....Emily giving Cooper a ride on the motorbike....the helmet was so heavy for Cooper's little head he nearly fell off the back of the bike but he held on tight, thank goodness!  Emily couldn't hear us yell at her to stop.

Week 133....Mickayla at footy with their new puppy, Roxy.

Week 132, I think this is the last one!  Trudi, Mickayla, Ebbony & Cooper and myself with Emily, Tom & Abby went to the Edithburg swimming pool and had a great time.  Here is Tom with the water pistol thingy, he wouldn't have dared (I don't think so!!)

Well that's it for now, will update tomorrow when Week 142 is uploaded to Nuts about Sketches the first sketch for January, why don't you try one of the sketches, would love to see them.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy and great 2011.

Cheers
